¶ 1 Appellant father, Richard Giannetti, was alleged to have failed to protect his children from episodic mistreatment by their mother. Consequently, in October 1994, the children were placed in foster care. State filed its application to terminate parental rights October 2, 1998 on the grounds that the parents had not corrected the conditions which led to the adjudication and that the children had been in foster care for fifteen of *496the last twenty-two months.
