On the 5th of August, Robert E. Dowdell filed in the office of the secretary of state a purported nominating petition to place the name of D. E. Corey as an independent candidate for Governor on the ticket to be voted at the next g'eneral election. At the primary election held- on the 6th of May, said L. E. Corey was a candidate for nomination by the Democratic Phrty for the office of Governor. To become a candidate for the Democratic Party nomination he was required to and did file a petition to which was attached an affidavit required by law (chapter 118, § 5, Daws 1929) to the effect that…
