In May, 1919, plaintiff and defendant entered into a contract in writing by the terms of which defendant secured a lease upon and option to purchase certain designated mining *91claims in Missoula county. It went into possession and upon one of the leased claims erected a compressor and boiler building, a blacksmith-shop, a storeroom, a stable, a tunnel portal, a closet, a pumphouse, a drain cover and a water-tank.
