Darden, Judge:

Tried before a general court-martial in Frankfurt, Germany, the accused pleaded not guilty but was found guilty of absence without leave and indecent assault, violations of Articles 86 and 134, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC §§ 886, 934, respectively. His sentence consisted of a dishonorable discharge, confinement at hard labor for one year, partial forfeitures for a like period, and reduction in grade. Intermediate appellate authorities have affirmed both the findings and the sentence. This Court then granted the accused a hearing on four issues,…
