On or about April 2, 1996, Fordie William Hiatt sustained an injury while working in the line and scope of his employment with Standard Furniture Manufacturing Company, Inc.
On August 26, 1996, Hiatt filed a two-count complaint, alleging that Standard Furniture had fired him in retaliation for his claim for workers’ compensation benefits and that Standard Furniture had committed fraudulent misrepresentation.
