The defendant, Antonio Rivera, was charged by information with two counts of robbery in the first degree in violation of General Statutes § 53a-134 (a) (4).1 He elected a trial to the court and on September 25,1984, was found guilty of one count of robbery in the first degree and one count of attempted robbery in the first degree.2 He subsequently received a total effective sentence of fifteen years imprisonment.
