Plaintiff, Linda Mack, a police lieutenant with the police department of defendant the city *134of Detroit, brought an action against defendant for emplojrment discrimination in violation of the provisions of defendant’s city charter. Defendant moved for summary disposition pursuant to MCR 2.116(C)(8), for failure to state a claim on which relief could be granted. The trial court granted defendant’s motion, and plaintiff now appeals as of right. We reverse and remand.
