The claimant asks this court to allow and award to him. the legal expenses- he incurred in defending himself on a charge of criminal libel lodged against him while he was a member of the Assembly of the State in 1923. The claimant introduced a bill in the Assembly providing for a legislative investigation of the police department of the city of New York, and sent from Albany a telegram, the basis of the charge of criminal libel against him, to one Corrigan, a magistrate of New York city.
