CARVER, Justice.

Geffen & Jacobsen, P.C. (“Geffen”), plaintiff below, was granted an interlocutory summary judgment against Charles O. Griffith, North Texas Financial Group, Inc., and Essex Consolidated, Inc. (“Griffith”) in its suit on a stated account for legal fees. The trial court ordered that a jury determine the amount of prejudgment interest and attorneys’ fees, and final judgment was entered after a jury awarded Geffen’s counsel $30,000, and after Geffen waived any claim to prejudgment interest other than at the rate of 6% as provided for in TEX.REV.CIV.STAT.ANN. art. 5069-1.03 (Vernon…
