The defendant, Steven Eason, has appealed from the denial of his motion to vacate his plea of nolo contendere to three counts of robbery, one count of conspiracy, one count of illegal possession of a firearm, and two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon. The case came before the Supreme Court for oral argument on November 5, 2001, pursuant to an order directing the parties to show cause why the issues raised in this appeal should not be summarily decided.
