This dispute involves the secondary market in structured settlement payment rights. Symetra Life Insurance Co. and Symetra Assigned Benefits Service Co. (together, “Symetra”) sued Rapid Settlements, Ltd. (“Rapid”), seeking a preliminary and permanent injunction preventing Rapid from using arbitration to circumvent the requirements of the state structured settlement protection statutes.
