HURWITZ, Justice.

¶ 1 We granted review to determine whether the failure to perfect a health care provider lien pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes (“A.R.S.”) section 33-932 (2000) bars an action to enforce the lien against a patient who has notice of the provider’s claim. The court of appeals held that the failure to follow the statutory perfection procedures did not affect the enforceability of a health care provider lien against a patient, but rather was relevant only to priority among multiple lienholders.
