Merino, 81 Hawai'i 198, 915 P.2d 672 (1996), which arises out of the defendant William Merino’s failure to appear for sentencing as ordered, the surety-appellants Ranger Insurance Co., by and through its agent and attorney in fact, James Lindblad, Inc.
