In this case, a divided panel of the Appeals Court affirmed a judgment of the Superior Court that decided that the Contributory Retirement Appeal Board (CRAB) had wrongly denied the plaintiff, Donna Adams, accidental disability retirement benefits pursuant to G. L. c. 32, §7 (1), as appearing in St. 1982, c. 630, § 18. See Adams v. Contributory Retirement Appeal Bd., 33 Mass. App. Ct. 171 (1992). We granted CRAB’s application for further appellate review.
