We agreed to hear these cases in the Court’s original jurisdiction. The cases arise out of an on-going South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (“SLED”) investigation into the past conduct of certain members of the General Assembly (the “redacted legislators”). Petitioner David Pascoe (“Pascoe”) asks this Court declare “the Attorney General” recused himself and his Office from the redacted legislators matter, and vested Pascoe with the legal authority to act autonomously as the designee of the Attorney General with the powers of that Office.
