Opinion

BORDEN, J.

The principal issue in this appeal1 is whether the plaintiffs’ challenge to the constitutionality of the financing system for regional school districts *477pursuant to General Statutes § 10-51 (b),2 presents a nonjusticiable political question. The plaintiffs, Gabriel Seymour, Thomas R. Coolidge, Susan Dempsey, Stephen W. Jenks and Joyce Schurk, claim that the trial court improperly dismissed their complaint on the grounds of nonjusticiability. We conclude that the plaintiffs’ claim is justiciable and, accordingly, we reverse the judgment of the trial court to the contrary.
