Thompson, Justice.
Christopher Steven Carson and Pamela Lamar Carson were granted a final judgment and decree of divorce. All issues, except for attorney fees, were resolved by the parties in a settlement agreement which was incorporated into the final judgment. The agreement provided that the outstanding issue of attorney fees “shall be left to the sound discretion of the trial court” upon written submissions by the parties.
