We granted certiorari in this case to decide whether the injuries sustained by two co-workers while taking a shortcut along a railroad right of way to a company parking lot, located some 790 feet from the entrance to their place of employment, arose “out of and in the course of’ their employment within the meaning of the Workmen’s Compensation Act, Maryland Code (1957, 1964 Repl.
