On December 10, 1993, defendant Michael Clark pleaded guilty to one count of armed robbery, a Class X felony. (720 ILCS 5/18 — 2 (West 1992).) Prior to accepting defendant’s plea, the trial court admonished him that he could receive between 6 and 30 years’ imprisonment and that the offense was nonprobationable. At the same proceeding, defendant admitted that by committing the armed robbery he had violated the terms of his probation for unlawful possession of a stolen vehicle, a Class 2 felony.
