This was a common law certiorari, issued to John Porter, Esq., a justice of the peace for Green county. From the return of the justice it appears that the suit was commenced by summons before Edward Hill, another justice. On the return day, July 6, 1858, the parties appeared when the defendant applied for, and obtained a change of venue, to the said Porter.
