KAUGER, Justice:

The first impression question presented is whether the trial court erred in awarding attorney’s fees and costs to a political subdivision which prevailed on a motion for summary judgment in an action brought pursuant to the Governmental Tort Claims Act *1047(the Act), 51 O.S.1991 § 151 et seq.1 Attorney fee awards are restricted to statutes specifically providing for recovery of attorney’s fees.
