The defendant contends that the judgment convicting him of murder in the second degree must be reversed, and the indictment dismissed, because the prosecution violated certain provisions of the Interstate Agreement on Detainers (hereinafter the IAD), codified in New York as CPL 580.20. We conclude that the prosecution violated neither the language nor the spirit of that compact and that the defendant’s principal argument on this appeal is therefore unfounded.
