On July 10 of last year an assistant prosecuting attorney of the former District Court of Puerto Rico filed an information against Alberto de la Rosa Lafontaine for the crime of mayhem. No bench warrant was issued, either at the time of filing the information or prior thereto, against the accused, due to the fact that he was a military man in active service in the Government of the United States of America.
