On October 8, 1964, plaintiff, Marjorie E. Goodwine, began an action for separate maintenance against her husband, Don F. Goodwine. A writ of attachment was levied upon defendant’s real property in the County of Los Angeles, giving the trial court quasi-in-rem jurisdiction. (Baldwin v. Baldwin, 28 Cal.2d 406, 415 [170 P.2d 670]; Nichols v. Superior Court, 1 Cal.2d 589, 599 [36 P.2d 380, 95 A.L.R. 894]; Murray v.
