Plaintiff brought suit in circuit court to recover damages for injuries sustained by him in a traffic accident occurring about 6:30 in the evening of February 11, 1946, on a highway referred to in the record as “old U. S. 12,” approximately two miles east of the city of Jackson. Immediately prior to the accident plaintiff was driving in an easterly direction on said highway, his intended destination being the Disabled American Veterans Club, located on the north side of the road.
