The plaintiff brought suit pursuant to General Statutes § 49-511 to discharge two judgment liens placed by the defendant on the plaintiffs real *11property located in Guilford. The trial court found that the plaintiff had failed to meet its burden of proving that notice as required by the statute was given to the defendant requesting the discharge of each lien and rendered judgment for the defendant. After a motion to open and vacate the judgment was denied, the plaintiff filed this appeal.2
