I. Brief Procedural History

After his May 1990 discharge by defendant CIGNA Corporation (CIGNA), plaintiff Jack-ey Griffiths filed this action on April 11,1991, alleging claims of racial and national origin discrimination and retaliatory discharge from employment in violation of federal and Pennsylvania statutory law, as well as several common law claims, all stemming from plaintiffs denial of promotion and subsequent discharge from defendant CIGNA’s employ. 1 {See Complaint, Filed Doc.
