Plaintiff Veronica Pearson brings this action against the Unification Theological Seminary (“UTS”) and Kathy Winings, the Dean of UTS’ New York City Extension Center and Director of the “Doctorate of Ministry Degree Program.” Plaintiff, a former admissions officer, alleges that UTS and Winings discriminated against her on the basis of her race in violation of 42 U.S.C. § 1981 (“Section 1981”) and parallel state and municipal laws, and retaliated against her in violation of these laws for her complaints of racial discrimination.
