Plaintiff appeals from a judgment dismissing the action because of his failure to prosecute it to trial within two years (Code Civ. Proc., § 583, subd. (a)).

The complaint in this action was filed and summons issued on May 28, 1974. Named as defendant was Kelvin K. Larson (defendant), a grower of table grapes in Coachella. The plaintiffs were Alfredo Lopez and Jose David Perez. It was alleged as to each plaintiff that he was a United Farm Workers Union steward and a farm worker employed by defendant, earning $50 a day; that in March and April 1974, defendant…
