WYATT, District Judge.

These are two related motions. The first is by plaintiffs under Fed.R.Civ.P. 34 for discovery and inspection of certain documents in the possession of defendant The Boeing Company (“Boeing”). The second is by the United States under Fed.R.Civ.P. 24 to intervene for the purpose of opposing on the ground of a claimed “executive privilege” the motion of plaintiffs for discovery and inspection in so *330far as that motion relates to certain of the documents in the hands of Boeing.
