OPINION AND ORDER
PEREZ-GIMENEZ, District Judge.
Present before this Court is plaintiff’s motion for consolidation, filed on May 21, 1981.1 On June 2,1981, defendants filed an opposition to plaintiff’s motion for consolidation thereto.
Rule 42(a) of the Federal .Rules of Civil Procedure provides in part:
“(a) Consolidation. When actions involving a common question of law or fact are *605pending before the Court, it may order a joint hearing or trial of any or all the matters in issue in the actions consolidated and it may make such orders concerning proceedings therein as may tend to avoid…
