This case involves an appeal from orders of the trial court denying motions for judgment notwithstanding the verdicts or, in the alternative, for a new trial in two actions consolidated for trial. In one of these actions, Aurora Benson seeks recovery for personal injuries sustained while riding as a guest passenger in an automobile driven by defendant Rose Gaboury. In the other action, Ernest W. Benson seeks recovery for medical and hospital expenses and for loss of the comfort and services of his wife on account of her injuries.
