SULLIVAN, Judge:

Appellant was tried by a general court-martial composed of officer and enlisted members at Fort Carson, Colorado, during September and October of 1984. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of the premeditated murder of his wife, in violation of Article 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. § 918. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for life, forfeitures of $300.00 pay per month for life, and reduction to the lowest enlisted grade.
