Ferguson, Judge:

This case comes before us on the issue of the validity of an Air Force directive prohibiting private pretrial interviews by defense counsel of agents of the Office of Special Investigations, promulgated — according to the United States on oral argument — because of the tendency of defense attorneys to misrepresent agents’ pretrial statements during trial proceedings.
