A military judge sitting as a special court-martial found appellant guilty, pursuant to his pleas, of absence without leave (AWOL) (two specifications), wrongful use of marijuana (three specifications), and wrongful use of cocaine and methylenedioxymethampheta*546mine (MDMA)1 (one specification each), in violation of Articles 86 and 112a, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 U.S.C. §§ 886 and 912(a) [hereinafter UCMJ].
