Hugh Larimer, sheriff of Shawnee county, appeals from a judgment against him for the wrongful conversion of personal property under an execution levied thereon by him. The plaintiff claimed the right to the possession of the property under a chattel mortgage given to it by defendant, W. F. George, to secure the payment of an indebtedness of $1,375, evidenced by a promissory note for that amount.
