OPINION

IRENAS, Senior District Judge.

Presently before this Court is the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus under 28 U.S.C. § 2241 by Immanuel Simmons (“Petitioner”), who is currently serving a sentence for a federal narcotics conviction. Petitioner is contesting his classification by the Federal Bureau of Prisons (“BOP”) under 18 U.S.C. § 4042(c) as a sex offender, a classification which triggers certain notice and registration requirements.
