Appellant, People of the State of California, brought this action against the respondent, Hacker Emporium, Inc., a corporation, and certain of its officers and employees for injunction, civil penalties and other relief for numerous counts of false advertising in violation of section 17500 of the Business and Professions Code. The only relief sought against the respondent corporation was for civil penalties not to exceed $2,500 for each violation as prescribed in section 17536 of the Business and Professions Code.
