Appellant was employed for 24 years by the respondent company as a locomotive fireman and engineer; during most of that time he had served the company as a fireman and operated locomotives in all classes of service. From December, 1933, up to the time of his injury he had been assigned a short run every third day from Ogden, his home town, to Salt Lake City; his day’s work consisted of three trips between Ogden and Salt Lake City.
