Plaintiffs Leon and Lula Pettis commenced this products liability action against defendant Nalco Chemical Company seeking to recover damages for injuries suffered by Leon when he was splashed with molten steel while performing his job for Jones & Laughlin Steel, Incorporated, in Warren. The case was tried by jury. At the close of plaintiffs’ proofs, defendant moved for a directed verdict. The trial court took the motion under advisement. The jury thereafter returned a verdict in favor of plaintiffs for $757,-558. The trial court subsequently granted defendant’s motion for a directed verdict…
