This action was brought to foreclose the lien of a street assessment for work done in 1892.
The plaintiffs, at the trial, following the usual practice in •eases of this class, put in evidence the assessment, including the warrant, diagram, certificate of the city engineer, and a printed copy of a certain resolution of the board of supervisors, and rested. To this evidence, however, defendant made certain objections. The point of them all seems to be that the work was done in 1892, and the assessment bears date in 1895, and there is no explanation of this delay. 3STo explanation was required to…
