We will deal first with the plea in abatement. The company undertook to prove the plea by offering testimony of the insurance adjuster who represented it in handling the claim, to the effect that he worked for the General Adjustment Bureau which represented Palatine Insurance Company; that he was called in by the company to adjust or make an investigation of the loss of the plaintiff; that the insurance company assigned the loss to his bureau, which turned the matter over to him; that he handled all of the transactions concerning this loss after it was turned over to him, and was in charge of…
