In 1937, Brown County, the plaintiff in this action, was engaged in certain WPA projects in the county, and for the purpose of transporting laborers from their homes or other place of assembly to the work on such projects it was necessary to, and the county did, hire and rent various trucks for such purpose. In January, 1937,. the county employed the defendant George Zerr to work for the county.
