On May 12, 1915, the defendants Volney S. Beardsley and wife executed a deed to the plaintiff Samuel J. Keese. This deed was given to secure to the Westinghouse Electric & Manufacturing Company, hereinafter referred to as the “Westinghouse Company,” the amount of the purchase price of certain electric motors thereafter to be purchased by the Beardsley Electric Company from the Westinghouse Company.
