GIBBONS, Chief Judge:

Dr. Althea Hankins brought suit against Temple University and several members of its faculty, claiming that she was terminated from a fellowship program in the Rheumatology Department of the University’s hospital because of her race and sex, in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq. (1982), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000e et seq. (1982), and 42 U.S.C. § 1981 (1982).
