At the general election held in the city of Northlake on April 21, 1953, the appellant, John P. Rausa, and the appellee, Joe C. Griffin, were candidates for the office of mayor of said city. The appellant was the candidate of the United Citizens party and the appellee the candidate of the Northlake Voters League party. The returns of the election officials showed appellant to have received 1102 votes and appellee 1100 votes.
