Plaintiffs appeal from a judgment awarding compensation for damage to their real property by reason of the construction of a viaduct in the street, and from an order striking their cost bill. They claim that they are entitled to a larger award.

In 1931, plaintiffs owned parcels of real property abutting First Street, Los Angeles. In July of that year the city filed a condemnation proceeding whereby part of their land was taken for the widening of the street (Los Angeles v. Savage, No. 320308 in the superior court).
