Defendant, George Doggett, appeals from the circuit court’s dismissal of his post-conviction petition. On appeal, defendant contends that (1) the court erred in denying him an evidentiary hearing on his post-conviction petition wherein he alleged he was denied his right to effective assistance of trial counsel where a per se conflict of interest existed and (2) he must be allowed to file a new post-conviction petition, must be appointed new counsel, and must be given a hearing on the petition since defense counsel did not comply with…
