Procedural History

This appeal arises from the trial court’s termination of Respondents’ parental rights. Respondent-mother is the biological mother of all five children. Respondent-father AS. is the biological father of B.S.O., V.S.O., and R.S.O. The fathers of the other children are not parties to this appeal. Petitioner Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, Youth and Family Services (“YFS”) first became involved with the family in February of 2006 based on reports of inappropriate discipline and domestic violence.
