GREENE, Judge.
Arthur Edward Baldwin (defendant) was convicted of first degree felony murder by a jury in the December 1995 Criminal Session of the Forsyth County Superior Court. Defendant appeals from a mandatory sentence of life imprisonment.
The defendant was bom on 29 June 1978 and was fifteen years old on 28 June 1994, the day Debbie Dawn Burnette (Burnette) was murdered. On 10 July 1994 the defendant was charged in a juvenile petition with the murder of Burnette.
